Stevensville is a small community in southern Ontario, Canada in the town of Fort Erie, most notable as the birthplace of Canadian entrepreneur James L. Kraft.

General Community Description

The centre of the community, the intersection of Stevensville Road and Main Street, is about 20 minutes from the town's downtown core. Stevensville is home to several small shops and restaurants, a feed mill, Vertis Canada, DMI (a wind turbine tower manufacturer) and Nomad Drum Cases. The latter manufactures cases for drummers, which are exported globally. The community is also home to Safari Niagara, a 100-acre (0.40 km2) location featuring numerous exotic animals. Stevensville is also the home of EMD Music Inc's Canadian office, an international full line music distributor. Their head office is in Brussells, Belgium. Geography

Only a few kilometres north of Lake Erie, Stevensville consists primarily of agricultural land.

Much wildlife can be sighted throughout the rural sections of Stevensville. There are many opportunities to experience the outdoors in Stevensville. Black Creek runs through the area which is often used by kayaks and canoes with a perfect spot to launch the boat at the end of Main Street.

Notable Persons From Stevensville

Stevensville is the birthplace of Canadian entrepreneur James L. Kraft, inventor of processed cheese and founder of the multimillion dollar J.L. Kraft & Bros. Company, which later became Kraft Foods Inc. It is also the birthplace of nationally and internationally respected blues, rock and pop keyboardist Michael Fonfara. Stevensville is also the home of 2008 Summer Olympics baseball player Nick Weglarz, who currently plays on the minor team for the Cleveland Indians
